Every now and then, aka often, my schedule is just nuts between working full time, being a full time mom (no sitters), my husband’s crazy work schedule… and I can only squeeze in, say, 30 minutes of time to myself.

Let me interject for a second —

If you are thinking, sheesh, I’d LOVE to have 30 minutes to myself. Not gonna happen.  Let me take this moment to get on my soapbox.

You NEED to make time to care for yourself each day, no matter what. That has to be the top priority and you can ALWAYS find at least 15 minutes if not 30 for something that is important to you.

And there is nothing more important than working towards BEING the awesome, amazing person that you are destined to be (and truly already are).

Ok, back to the question:   If I can ONLY choose either a workout or meditation, which do I do?  Does it depend?

Here’s the answer: 100% of the time, meditation.

Here’s why:  Meditation is the most powerful form of exercise I have encountered.  Especially deep meditation.

When I meditate deeply, a clarity is established, and that stays with me the entire day.  I will move my body in a mindful way, make solid nutritional choices all day, be inspired and high energy all day and be calm, happy and ninja-like in handling the wrenches that get thrown at my head all day.

Don’t get me wrong, anyone who knows me knows how much I love a good workout, and I really hate to have a day when I can’t squeeze one in… and even if it is just 15 minutes, I work out.

But if I really can’t do both, it is a no-brainer (pun intended).

Meditation always, no matter what.
